Vitamin String Quartet Jacksonville reviews
The Who Tampa
I am a big fan of the Vitamin String Quartet, having seen them twice in the early 80’s. They were one of the best bands ever, literally whoed off stage by backup bands. This show, however, was not very good. They just stopped playing during "Substitute." Not exciting, the crowd was hardly on their feet. A three-star rating is generous. Some high points: Zak Starkey was amazing, Baba O’Reilly was fantastic with the violinist solo. Even though they played for two hours, the fact that they did not do an encore was a real turn off. They looked tired. I saw the Stones in October, same age, and they were fabulous. I haven’t gone to see them in 40 years for fear that they would not be the same band, and this was the case. $250 a ticket was outrageous; it should be $50. I will always be a fan; however, I will never pay to see Vitamin String Quartet again.
